Kiki the Brave Parrot: How She Flew Free and Found Her Way Back Home

1. Kiki the Talking Parrot

In a quiet village filled with mango trees and flower gardens lived a bright green parrot named Kiki. She had shiny feathers, a red beak, and the most cheerful voice in the village. Kiki wasn’t an ordinary parrot—she could talk!

Kiki lived in a large wooden cage on Granny Meena’s porch. Every morning, she greeted people walking by:
“Good morning! Don’t forget your smile!”
The villagers loved her cheerful chatter and often stopped to talk with her.

2. A Secret Wish

Though Kiki was happy, she had a secret wish: to fly freely in the open sky. She often looked up at the birds gliding above the trees and whispered, “Someday, I want to soar like them.”

Granny Meena loved Kiki dearly but never let her out of the cage. “It’s for your safety, little one,” she’d say kindly.

One night, as the stars twinkled and the breeze blew softly, Kiki made a quiet decision. “If I get the chance,” she whispered, “I will fly.”

3. The Great Escape

One morning, Granny Meena forgot to latch the cage door properly. Kiki noticed and gently pushed it open. Her heart fluttered with excitement. With one big flap, she took off into the sky!

She soared over rooftops, trees, and the village well. Everything looked different from above! She met other birds, chirped joyfully, and flew as high as the clouds. Kiki had never felt so alive.

But as the sun began to set, Kiki felt a little lonely. She missed Granny Meena’s gentle voice and her cozy home.

4. Home Again, Happier Than Ever

Kiki returned to the porch just as Granny Meena was searching for her, eyes full of worry.
“Kiki!” she cried. “You came back!”

Kiki flew down onto her shoulder and softly said, “I just wanted to fly, Granny.”

Granny smiled through her tears. “You’re a brave little bird. From now on, you can fly freely—but always come home.”

From that day on, Kiki flew wherever she wanted during the day, exploring the skies and making new friends. But every evening, she returned to Granny Meena, who waited with a smile and a bowl of seeds.

Kiki’s wish had come true—she was free, happy, and most of all, loved.
